Introduction to espresso and milk, overview of where coffee comes from and how that changes how it tastes, sample different coffees from different countries, learn about different roles in the industry.
If coffee really takes your fancy you have the opportunity to apply for the foundation barista course.

Speciality Barista espresso & milk skills, knowledge of bean to cup process, try multiple different coffees & visit speciality coffee shops, learn different coffee brewing techniques, work with different equipment & know how to clean and look after speciality machines. SCA Foundation Barista Skills Qualification.
Work readiness and employability skills, including preparing and accessing work as a Speciality Barista.
Job support on successful completion of the training. Access to the Graduate Programme that offers ongoing training and development, live vacancies, mentoring, invitations to industry events and socials.
9 weeks, training 3 days a week for the first 4 weeks; training 1 day a week plus 2 days work placement for the final 5 weeks.
Quality work placements at specialty cafes.
You will cover all aspects of coffee and leave with a solid foundation to further your career in the industry. You will receive a Foundation Barista Skills SCA accreditation which is internationally recognised.
We work with all our Graduates to progress them into work as Baristas. Last year 90% of our trainees moved into work in the coffee industry after the programme. In addition, all Graduates move onto the Graduate Programme which gives them access to ongoing job support, live vacancies, further training and development, mentoring, invitations to industry events and socials.
